Traverse Through the Natural Treasures of Sri Lanka | Travel Writing

Staying true to its epithet of ‘Pearl of Indian Ocean’ in every way, Sri Lanka is a tropical island filled with natural gems everywhere you look. To describe it using just a few words, it is a large patch of green in the middle of the ocean. With this abundance of greenery comes abundant wildlife that leaves you curious and absolutely intrigued. Lined by the beauty of the Indian Ocean around, the coastline remains fairly untouched, and hence, refreshingly beautiful. With gushing waterfalls, wild dense jungles, and beaches bringing more charm to the raw nature of it, Sri Lanka is a coastal paradise, to say the least.

The country, which is now a tourist top-list, is a hub of culture and nature treats backed by legends and mysticism. The friendly locals that occupy it are guaranteed to fill you with so much warmth with their hospitality that a visit to this destination becomes more like a visit to family. While the island has only begun to garner so much tourist attention over the last few years for its unexplored earth elements and scenic landscapes, we would say, the ancient temples, its history and distinct culture are worthy to soak in, too.

A country that is quick to explore but not as quick to forget, a trip to Sri Lanka can be made with friends and family alike. It is an ideal four days getaway that encapsulates the best of everything, from the plantations, the waters, and the sunny skies to the local cuisines, temples, and traditionalism. With Colombo, Kandy city, and Bentota on the list, the tour primarily revolves around heritage exploration, nature and wildlife watching, along with adventures and touristy activities at the beaches.

The destination is appropriate for every age and preference. More importantly, it is ideal for the young and the elderly, too. We could attribute that to the tour’s slow yet uplifting pace and nature. It includes a visit to the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, Temple of Tooth Relic, Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, and Galle Face Green, along with a boat ride and some beach time in Bentota. You will also get to explore the local markets of every city you visit.
